Te Rawhitiroa Bosch

Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Kahu, Pākehā

Whakapae tonutia kia puta te rā, e kore e ngaro, ā, tau noa ki te moana.

Born and raised in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand, my love for photography is grounded in my passion for capturing moments of connection: people to people, people to place.

Pūrākau - storytelling - is one of the most powerful connecting forces in the world.   As a photographer I enjoy engaging the power of storytelling; by capturing not only the subject, but also the deeper story, the magic, the heart, the emotion behind each moment to share with others.

Fluent in Te Reo Māori, I am passionate about Te Ao Māori, and about reclaiming our narratives and telling our own stories.

I absolutely love traveling and am grateful to have experienced and photographed a rich diversity of people, places, cultures (and delicious food!) around the world.

Through my exhibitions both here in Aotearoa and abroad I have enjoyed sharing these stories, these moments, and these experiences with others. A recent highlight was opening our exhibition: He Kaupapa Waka - at Te Papa Tongarewa.

My work is my art, and I love it! Professional, friendly and easy-going, I strive to make the whole process enjoyable (yes, even for those who ‘hate being photographed’).  The best photos are always captured when everyone is relaxed and comfortable.

Variety is the spice of life and I'm at home in a range of diverse situations from the marae to music festivals; weddings; corporate events; theatre shows; family gatherings and portrait shoots.

Get in touch with me below and let me know how I can help you.

For deeper insight into "why" and "how" I work and the different kaupapa that I'm involved in you can dive into some of these in depth interviews and podcasts. For me, the work I do is more than just a "job" or a way to gain an income, it's about elevating our people and kaupapa and helping our culture to thrive and develop into the future.
